On Tuesday, CHS Service Center hosted a NexGen cotton seminar at its new facilities at 2180 CR 17 just southwest of Friona. Cotton growers from around the county, photo at right, learned about new and existing cotton varieties and were then treated to a meal of hamburgers and french fries courtesy of CHS. Town Talk

Friona High School is hosting a Blood Drive on Thursday, February 27th from 11 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Library and Hallway at the High School campus. Local Election News

City Council
The Friona City Council Election has been cancelled. Three positions were on the ballot and only the incumbents filed paperwork for the election. Mayor Ricky White will serve another term as mayor. Aldermen Brent Loflin and Greg Lewellen will serve on the City Council for another term. (more...)

Fiesta Friona

Let’s get ready to rumbaaaaaaa! Fiesta Friona will samba into the Friona Community Center Tuesday evening March 10th as the Friona Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture hosts its 64th Annual Awards Banquet. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the extravaganza will commence at 6:00 p.m. with emcees Ed & Tyleen Caffrey and the posting of the colors by Girl Scout Troop #5171. (more...)

The Inspector General for the Social Security Administration, Gail S. Ennis, is designating Thursday, March 5, 2020 as National “Slam the Scam” Day, to raise public awareness of government imposter telephone scams across the United States. (more...)
