The Friona Band Boosters will host a Brisket Dinner fundraiser on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Junior High Cafeteria. Tickets are $13 per plate and can be purchased from any Band member. Proceeds will benefit the Friona Chieftain Marching Band.

The 5th Annual National Night Out sponsored by the Parmer County Sheriff’s Office has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 8th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center located at 300 4th Street in Farwell, Texas. There will be free food, drinks, music, giveaways, and fun. Come and meet the Police, Fire, and EMS personnel that serve our country.

St. Teresa’s Catholic Church will host a Hamburger Steak Dinner on Sunday, October 6th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The menu consists of hamburger steak topped with grilled onions, brown gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $6 for children.

Beginning on October 2nd, the Friona Friends of the Library Book Shoppe will be open on Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursday morning hours will resume next June. The book shop is located at 119 West 6th Street, and books sell for one dollar per bag. No donations can be accepted until later in October.
