Jo Ann Wells
Jo Ann Wells, 87 of Friona passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in Friona. Celebration of Life Graveside Services were held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Jeff Procter, minister of the 6th St. Church of Christ, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Jo was born September 29, 1931 in Dimmitt, Texas to John Wesley and Pauline Celia Dinkin Godfrey. She spent many years living and working in Dimmitt and later married Max Wells in Dimmitt on April 24, 1965. She moved to Friona with Max to begin their married life working together on their family farm, and have done so for over 50 years. She was a member of the 6th St. Church of Christ.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Those to mourn her passing include: her husband, Max of Friona, 1 brother-Ted Godfrey and wife Murlene of Pecos, 1 sister-Carolyn Gruenhoff of Oklahoma, 2 brothers-in-law-Jim Roy Wells and wife Cherry and Rex Wells, and wife Sue, all of Friona, 2 other sisters-in-law- Janice Chesher of Hereford and Joyce Wells of Friona.

Jamie Herring
Jamie Herring, 51 of Lubbock, formerly of Friona passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 in Lubbock. Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Friona United Methodist Church in Friona with Rev. Archie Echols of Lubbock, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Jamie was born November 13, 1967 in Friona to Glen Herring and Marca Lynn Massie Herring. She was a 1986 graduate of Friona High School and later received a Bachelor Degree and Master’s Degree from Texas Tech University. Jamie was inducted into the Friona High School Hall of Distinguished Graduates in 2005 She served as a grant writer for non-profit institutions and was a member of the Friona United Methodist Church.
Jamie’s life was enriched daily by God’s outdoor creations, a nice warm sun, animals and children, family and friends, and she made it a point to return that enrichment to others. She touched many lives along the way with her positive attitude.
Jamie is preceded in death by 1 sister-Jill Cotoia, and 2 grandfathers-DC. Herring and Meryle Massie.
Those to carry on her legacy include her mother-Marca Lynn Herring of Friona, her father-Glen Herring and wife Mickie of Friona, 1 brother- Richie Herring and wife Blaire of Friona, 1 sister-Kriste Haile and husband Neal of Corinth, Texas, 2 grandmothers-Margie Herring and Olive Massie, both of Friona, 3 aunts-Carolyn Carson and husband David of Lubbock, Jayn Looper of Friona and Betty Massie of Bar Harbor, Maine, 1 uncle-Tim Herring and wife Judy of Friona, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Eddie and Beverly Sosa of Lubbock.
