Anything can happen at the stock show
“At stock shows, anything can happen... And there was lots of activity at the Parmer County show this week. This was the highlight of not only my day but my whole week... Dylan Carpenter is a new 4-H member and he & his family are new to the show scene. Dylan has worked with his pig “Bob” from day one and was beyond excited to show him off. He ended up winning his class as well as Reserve Breed Champion!!! He was completely overcome with emotion and cried tears of pure joy and happiness, as did many of us (grown men included). We celebrated along with him. As one man said, “That’s what it’s all about. He’s the happiest guy in the barn right now.” It was a special day for him and one I imagine he will remember for a very long time. He not only won ribbons and awards but he also won our hearts!!
It was a long week for the kids, the parents, the ag teachers, the volunteers, and the county agents but it’s moments like this that make it all worth it. I love my job and I’m so blessed by our 4-H families!!
So again, congrats to Dylan and all the Parmer County youth that participated in this year’s show... You guys rock!!”
