Friona Summer Celebration
The City of Friona and Chamber of Commerce invite everyone to attend this year’s Summer Celebration which will be held in the Friona City Park on July 27th. This event, which is being sponsored by NewsChannel 10, will showcase Friona to the entire panhandle during their 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm segments. A schedule of events is listed below. Please come out to the celebration and help us remind the entire panhandle why Friona is the “Biggest Small Town in Texas.”
5:00 p.m. LIVE BROADCAST (crowd needs to be available until 5:15 p.m. and will feature the upcoming events and footage from Kids Building Camp)
6:00 p.m. LIVE BROADCAST (mostly live form Friona. We will take short breaks for commercials and a few short breaks for Amarillo news from the studio around 6:05 for 2 min and 6:35 for 10 minutes)
6:35 p.m. NewsChannel 10 will introduce talent and thank sponsors
7:00 p.m. T-Shirt Giveaway and Blue Bell Ice Cream for 600 people
7:20 p.m. Water Polo Competition: Boots (Fire) vs. Badges (Police) and
7:30 p.m. Live Music till 9:00 p.m.
7:30 p.m. Water Polo Competition: Bandages (EMS) vs. Broadcast (NewsChannel 10)
7:55 p.m. Water Polo Championship
8:00 p.m. Mini Cheeseburger eating contest (limited to the first 10 that sign up)
8:15 p.m. Tug of War and Water Balloon Toss Contest
9:15 p.m. Frozen T-Shirt contest – hosted inside the station area (brings the crowd around for the Newscast)
10:00 p.m. LIVE BROADCAST
Extra activities: The Ronald McDonald house will be present and there will be other activities such as a raffle, corn hole, hula hoops and a few booths selling snacks
