The Friona Star received a note this past week from Floyd Rector. He stated that after more that 50 years as a subscriber to the Friona Star he was going to have to give it up. Floyd and Eva grew up and married and lived in Friona until 1990. They moved to Lubbock to be near their grandchildren and couple of years ago they moved again to Denton since most of the family now lived in that area of the state. Floyd also stated that the Friona Star had been a great paper since Uncle John White and continues to be so today. The staff and owners of the Friona Star would like to say THANK YOU to Floyd and Eva Rector for their support of the paper for all these years. All the best to you and your family!!! (See story at right.)

The list is now available for the “Adopt a Resident” for Christmas at the Prairie Acres Estates. Please contact the Activity Department at 806-250-3922. All help is greatly appreciated!

The Friona FCCLA organization is excited to partner with the city and help paint house numbers on driveways. The members arrive early Saturday mornings and divide into groups. They each fill their box with paint, stencils, brushes, gloves and masks. Members receive their list of addresses and head toward their locations. This community service project will help our emergency responders locate houses quickly and efficiently, potentially saving lives. Friona FCCLA members have worked for the last 3 weekends on this project and plan to finish by Dec.1st. Friona FCCLA is proud to support their community and look forward to more projects.
