JV Chiefs trounce Steers 38-6
The FHS JV Chieftains started their 2017 season with a resounding win over the Farwell JV Steers, 38-6.
In the first quarter, Jeremiah Rando had a 3-yard run for a touchdown but the 2-point conversion failed to add points on the scoreboard. Eduardo Chavez had a 3-yard run and the 2-point conversion was good by Rando.
Jose Grado passed to Elian Mendoza in the second quarter for a touchdown. The 2-point conversion was good with a pass from Grado to Mendoza.
Chavez scored with a 3-yard run in the fourth and then completed the 2-point conversion. Grado passed to Zeke Garcia for 7 yards for the final touchdown. Rando ran in the 2-point conversion.
“The defense played an excellent game to hold Farwell to only six point,” said Coach Tommy DeLeon.
