Russell Atwell
Russell Atwell, 94, of Friona, formerly of Clovis, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Friona. Celebration of Life services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at the 6th Street Church of Christ in Friona with Bobby Atwell, minister of Arlington, and Jeff Procter, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.
Mr. Atwell was born November 24, 1922 in Pleasant Hill, New Mexico to Oda L. and Helen Inez Russell Atwell. Mr. Atwell was active military in the United States Navy and National Guard. He was an automobile mechanic, cattleman, farmer, loved to fish, play golf and ride motorcycles.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Atwell and wife Sherry of Friona and Bobby Nolan Atwell and wife Linda of Arlington; two daughters, Patricia Ann Hitchcock and husband John of Medford, Oregon, and Linda Ruth McFarland and husband Mickey of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Tony Nunley
Tony Nunley, 54, of Friona, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Friona. Graveside services were held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Friona Cemetery in Friona with Pastor Tyler Cockrell of Clovis, officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.
Tony was born November 23, 1962 in Athens, Tennessee to Clifford Lee and Annie Laura McKelvey Nunley. He was a truck driver that loved his dogs, fishing, walking around Reeve Lake in Friona and adored spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Nathan and Anthony Nunley of Friona; one sister, Teresa Burkart of Friona; two grandchildren, Kaleb Nunley and Synphny Nunley; two nephews, Charlie Burkart and Dusty Stowers.
