Football Contest returns August 31
Year two of the Friona Star Football Contest will begin on Thursday, August 31. The format will be the same as last year with prize money of $35 for first place and $25 for second.
Contestants will choose from 12 games each week for 10 weeks. Entry forms will have games including high school, college and pro. There will still be two tie-breakers each week. At the end of 10 weeks the winner will receive a $100 grand prize.
Contest entry forms will be found in the Star on Thursday and every Wednesday evening on our website, frionaonline.com.
Entries are due by 4 p.m. each Friday. Entries sent by U.S. mail should be postmarked by 4 p.m. Friday. Drop off entries in the red mailbox at the Star office or Dorothy’s Beauty Shop in Bovina before 4 p.m. Friday. Entries can be faxed to (806) 250-5127. No emails accepted. All entries must be on the official entry blank form. Copies of the form are acceptable.
We will compute the winners each week and keep up with individual scores during the contest to determine the grand prize winner. Winners will be listed in the newspaper each week and posted on our Friona Star Facebook page.
