The Friona Chieftains celebrated their sixth win for the season last Friday at River Road after defeating the Wildcats 54-18. The Chieftains travel to Littlefield to take on more Wildcats this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Wildcat Field. The Chieftains are now 6-0 for the season.

FHS Volleyball Coach Bryan Masse, center, celebrated the 500th win of his career on Tuesday, October 17 as the Squaws defeated the Dimmitt Bobbies. Pictured with Masse are the 2017-18 FHS Squaws, l-r, Emma Rector, Mariah Trevino, Vivianna Rivera, M’Kenzie Hurst, Erica Barrera, Carly Drake, Megan Stone, Gabby Douglas, Bailey Pope, and Josselyn Castillo. Masse began his career as a volleyball coach in Tatum, NM. Approximately 180+ of the 500 wins were with Friona in the last 8 years. Masse thanked everyone and said, “You are only as good as your assistants.”

Town Talk

The Friona Blood Drive is going for a record-breaking 80 donations at the November 9th Blood Drive. The Blood Drive will begin at noon and run until 7 p.m. The Friona Noon Lions will serve up Mexican pile-on and cobbler to all the donors that present. November is Blaze Coffee Accident Awareness month. Coffee Memorial Blood Center will be on receiving the blood donations. Donors will receive a Blaze Coffee t-shirt and a Friona Blood Drive shirt. Come on out November 9 and help the Friona Blood Drive break a record while helping save lives. (more...)

Trunk or Treat set for October 31

Little goblins and ghouls (and their parents) are invited the Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Euclid Street between the Friona Primary and Elementary Schools. This event is hosted by the Friona Chamber of Commerce, the Parmer County Sheriff’s Office and the Friona Police Department. (more...)
