As of Tuesday there are 25 children signed up for the camp. Pre-registration forms can be turned into the Chamber Office at 621 Main. For more information call the Chamber at (806) 250-3491.
The committee met to discuss all aspects of the camp from building materials to food. They are collecting donations of materials and money to make this an ongoing activity in the community.

Pallets and cardboard are being collected from local businesses. Monetary donations are being accepted.
They discussed additional entertainment, which will include a Slip and Slide, Bouncy House and face painting. Music will be provided by Gatos Express.
Committee Chairman Harry DeWit stated that there will be tool boxes equipped with two hammers, one measuring tape, two carpenter pencils, one small crowbar and duct tape. These kits are being purchased through Blackburn Hardware.
DeWit stated that they will need approximately $2,000 for the camp. They are over half way to their goal after a $1,000 donation from the Friona Economic Development Corporation. Donations can be made at the Friona Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.
They reported that Dawn Campos will be on hand for the camp to provide first aid services.
Electric saws will be provided and manned by the volunteers.
Volunteers are needed for helping the children. A volunteers meeting will be held on Monday, July 18 at 5 p.m. at the Boy Scout Hut. There they will discuss teams, crews and what will need to be done during the camp.
Children are reminded to bring a sleeping bag or bed roll on Friday evening for the sleepover. Prizes will be awarded for Prettiest Building and Most Creative Building. The Most Creative building team will receive golden hammers and have their creation placed at the Reeve Lake Park for the coming year.
There is still time to sign up for the Kidz Building Camp. A booth will be set up at the Friona Independence Day celebration (July 4) and the Cheeseburger Festival (July 16) for those that would like to sign-up and participate.
Everyone is invited to be creative and have fun.
