Mireles to play baseball at Wayland Baptist University
Matthew Mireles singed a letter of intent last week to play baseball at Wayland Baptist University. Matthew was joined at the ceremony by his brother, Mason, and his dad, Paul. Mason, a 2016 FHS graduate, and Matthew played on the 2016 Chieftain Baseball team that won the first Gold Glove in school history. The signing event was held in the high school gym and was hosted by Athletic Director Jimmy Arias.

Brian J. Laffler, LNFA was recently named as the new Administrator for Prairie Acres. One of his first goals is to build the social media presence of the facility. He invites those who are on Facebook and Instagram to like and follow Prairie Acres online. He feels that social media is a great way for family members and the rest of the community to stay up-to-date on current events.
Brian was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and joined the U.S. Army immediately after high school. He spent the entirety of his enlistment overseas in Germany, Kosovo, and Bulgaria. He married his wife Cindy in 2004 and they have two children Eliana, age 2 and Moses, 9 months.
Brian graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He plans to pursue a MBA degree with a minor in Healthcare Administration.
Brian invites everyone to come by and say hi. He is ready to listen and help out in any way possible.
