Friona Junior High supports Cancer Coalition
As part of the Friona ISD Gifted and Talented program, Friona Junior High students recently conducted a fundraiser to support the Parmer County Cancer Coalition. The students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades sold sodas at the National Night Out in Farwell. Accepting the donation on behalf of PCCC is Greg Lewellen.
One student, Abril Arzate, won a gift card for United Supermarkets as a part of the give-a-ways at the National Night Out and chose to add this to the contribution. She said, “When I was little, my mom had cancer. I just wanted to help other people with cancer too.”
