Lights! Camera! Action! News Channel 10 crew visits Friona
NewsChannel10 made the final stop on its Summer Celebration Tour 2018 in Friona on Friday night. “The most watched news in the panhandle” was broadcast live from the city park at 5:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m. “On-air” personalities included news anchors Walt Howard & Madison Alewel, chief meteorologist “Doppler” Dave Oliver, sports reporters Kayla Pace & Ralph Cooper, and news reporter Nyzah McDonald. Pre-taped and live interviews with local business owners were also featured during the newscasts. Mayor pro-tem Greg Lewellen presented NewsChannel10 with a key to the city.
In addition to the newscasts, there were also give-aways and contests. T-shirts, Blue Bell ice cream and Primo water was available free to everyone. Two cheeseburger eating contests were held and the winners were Johnathan Salsman and Lalo Juarez. There was also water polo, a water balloon toss, and a frozen t-shirt contest, live music, and an impromptu dance festival.
The evening also featured a volleyball match between the Friona Squaws and the NewsChannel10 all-stars. Go Squaws! Everyone had a great time meeting and visiting with the news crew. Thank you NewsChannel10!
