Commissioners approve abatement
The Parmer County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, June 26, 2017 in the County Courtroom in Farwell to discuss a brief agenda.
The commissioners approved the new tax abatement between Parmer County and Mariah del Este and the first amendment between Parmer County and Mariah del Sur, LLC. The tax abatement had been amended three times to date and a new agreement was drawn up to make future use easier.
County Clerk Gerri Bowers presented a number of job applications for all Parmer County jobs. The commissioners approved a general application that would be used for all county offices except the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Randy Geries reported that at this time there are 29 inmates. He updated the commissioners on the new patrol SUV. It will be delivered in the next two weeks. It is a 4-wheel drive purchased from the Tarrant County Co-op.
The commissioners will meet again on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Parmer County Courthouse. All meetings are open to the public.
