Hernandez, Trejo advance to state
The FHS Powerlifters traveled to Sundown last weekend to compete in the Regional Meet and came away big winners. The team scored second place overall with Mario Hernandez and Luis Trejo being named Regional Champions in their weight classes and will advance to State competition.
Hernandez competed in the 123 lb. class. His lifts were: Squats-350 lbs.; Bench-180 lbs.; Dead Lift-385 lbs. for a total of 915 lbs.
Trejo competed in the 132 lb. class. His lifts were: Squats-460 lbs.; Bench-260 lbs.; Dead Lift-425 lbs. for a total of 1,145 lbs.
Juan Trejo placed 4th in the 114 lb. class. His lifts were: Squats-300 lbs.; Bench-125 lbs.; Dead Lift-305 lbs. for a total of 730 lbs.
Nathan Flores placed 7th in the 114 lb. class. His lifts were: Squats-250 lbs.; Bench-130 lbs.; Dead Lift-285 lbs. for a total of 665 lbs.
Edwin Garcia placed 7th in the 123 lb. class. His lifts were: Squats-305 lbs.; Bench-160 lbs.; Dead Lift-330 lbs. for a total of 795 lbs.
Marin Santiago placed 8th in the 132 lbs. class. His lifts were: Squats-345 lbs.; Bench-155 lbs.; Dead Lift-375 lbs. for a total of 875 lbs.
