Squaws sweep Brownfield

Tuesday the Friona C team started off the night with a 25-16, 27-25 win over the Brownfield Lady Cubs. The girls played a solid first game and mounted a fierce comeback to win game two.
The JV team got off to a slow start and lost the first game 15-25. In the second game the JV Squaws eliminated some of their mistakes and pulled out a 25-21 win. In game three the ladies fought hard and made enough good touches to capture a 25-21 win.
To end the night with a sweep over Brownfield the varsity girls would have to battle through some tough situations for the win. In game one the Squaws were not on their game but still managed to pull out a 25-21 win.
Throughout game two the Squaws looked tired and made too many unforced errors, losing 16-25. Game three was a battle but the Squaws dug deep and finished with a 25-20 win. The ladies got momentum going from game three and carried it over to the fourth game with a 25-12 win. In the last two games the Lady Cubs looked tired and the Squaws looked refreshed.
The Squaws are 18-10 on the season and play River Road here on Saturday. The C team and JV will play at 12:00 p.m. and the varsity will follow.
