Town Talk II

by Ron Carr

For the first time since before Christmas, the calendar week is back to normal. We have only one Monday and one Friday this week. Had a hard time keeping the days straight during the holidays. What wasn’t normal was starting the week on Monday with a 6 degree temperature and a 3 degree wind chill. They say the brutal freezing across the north and eastern half of the country is a polar vortex. Some brutal sub-zero cold up north. I got cold just watching the Packers-49ers game Sunday where the temperature was 4 degrees but almost 75,000 fans still showed up. That’s crazy.

We will be making a few subtle changes to the Star as we get started on 2014. With the addition of Dana Jameson to our staff we will be able to cover even more local events and happenings. We plan to use a slightly larger type font and feature more photos and local news so if you have some news to share send it along. Our email is frionastar@wtrt.net. Here’s to a great 2014 for all of us. Until then!
