Council to approve bond payments
The Friona city council’s first meeting of 2014 will be Monday January 13 at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers, 619 Main St. All council meetings are open to the public.
After roll call, invocation, and pledge of allegiance, city manager Patricia Phipps will swear in new council member Nancy Davis. Mrs. Davis was appointed to fill the seat of councilman Charlie Pope who resigned last month.
The council will consider and take action on approval to cast vote on official ballot for representative on Parmer County Farm Service Agency committee. Discussion and approval of accounts payable for December 2013, financial statement for December 2013, and first quarterly financial statement October 2013 thru December 2013 is on the agenda.
The council will consider and take action on approval to transfer money from interest and sinking, and water and sewer, to the pool bank account to make the bond payments of $123,850.00 to First Financial and $205,822.50 to the Bank of New York, due February 15, 2014.
In other action the council will consider a request for variance for a fence on property located at 1021 Pierce owned by Antonio and Margie Monreal (Gato’s Espress), and a request for a 16-foot variance for a carport at 1212 Washington owned by Gary and Mercedes Williams.
