Squaws 1-0 in district

On Monday the junior high volleyball teams played at Olton. All the Maidens teams, 7th B & A and 8th B and A were victorious.
Tuesday night the Squaws teams hosted Dimmitt for the district opener. The C team opened with a hard fought two game sweep of the Bobbies. The JV teams continued to play well and also won in two games 25-14, 25-21.
In the varsity match the Squaws were nervous for the district opener but settled down to win in three games. In game one the Squaws committed too many errors but finished strong to win 25-17. Game two was a battle but once again the ladies pulled together for a 25-23 win. In game three better serving and passing by the Squaws led to a lopsided 25-10 win.
The Squaws are 21-12 on the season and 1-0 in district. The ladies host Tulia Tuesday October 14 for the district lead.
Last Saturday all three Friona volleyball teams were in action. The C team started off with a two game sweep of the Post Lady Lopes. Then the varsity pulled it together for a 25-11, 25-21, 26-24 win.
The JV finished Post off with a 2-0 win to complete the sweep of the Lady Lopes. For the last match of the day the Squaws varsity squared off against Clovis Christian. The Squaws served and passed their way to a 2507, 25-2, 25-11 win.
