Football contest final results, Dearing wins the grand prize
Week 12 was the end of the 2012 Friona Star Football Contest. We thank everyone who entered and especially thank our sponsors for making the contest possible.
The Week 12 winner with 12 of 15 correct guesses was Ivan Duran of Friona. He was the only contestant to pick 12 correct in the final week. Ivan wins the last weekly $25 cash prize.
Going into Week 12 Jeremy Dearing of Lubbock had a 2-point lead in the overall point standings. He improved a point with his Week 12 entry. Jeremy picked 10 correct in Week 12 while his closest opponents managed to pick only 9 correct. The Muleshoe and Idalou losses tripped up most everybody along with the Florida and So. Carolina wins.
Dearing finished with 123 total points. Jack Glover was in second place with 121 points. Tyson Neill, Greg O’Brian and Sandra Berend finished with 120 points.
The 12 weekly winners were Jeremy Dearing, Ronald Diaz, Tenna Montana, Michael Hernandez, Jack Glover, Tyson Neill, Jess Dearing, Dorothy Stowers, Greg O’Brian, Frank Dominguez, Jr., Rosa Mendez, and Ivan Duran.
