Give Blood…Save Lives…Rivera Strong
The Friona Noon Lions Club is sponsoring a Friona Community Blood Drive in honor of Andrew Rivera on Thursday, November 7th from Noon until 7:00 p.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 1500 Cleveland. Friona High School senior class officers helped plan the event and will serve as hosts.
The blood drive is part of the Coffee Memorial Blood Center’s “Blaze Coffee Accident Awareness Month” promotion. All donors will receive a ”Real Heroes Don’t Wear Capes” t-shirt and a free movie pass to Cinergy Cinemas & Entertainment. Mrs. Montana will also throw in a special treat for any high school student that donates.
White’s Beef Jerky and Pope Boys BBQ will serve pulled pork sandwiches. Mrs. Barnett’s FCCLA students will cook and serve cookies, and the Lions Club will provide water and soft drinks.
