A rain storm Tuesday evening dumped over 2-inches of rain on Friona. This tanker makes a big splash as flooding covered Highway 60 at the Fast Stop. The official amount in Friona was 2.24”.

Weather guy John Gurley says the gully-washer we had Tuesday evening amounted to 2.24” in his official rain gauge in Friona. Other reports ranged up to 3-inches. It was still sprinkling and trying to rain when I came to work Wednesday morning. Cooler fall weather is on the way. Let’s be grateful.

Chiefs pound Booker 49-0
The Chieftains first win of the season was a 49-0 romp over Booker, played Saturday September 3 in Pampa. The Chiefs rushed for 259 yards and seven TDs. Leading rusher was Luis Trejo with 121 yards on 13 carries and three touchdowns. Quarterback Marco Monreal carried 13 times for 56 yards and two touchdowns.
