Kidz Building Camp planned
The 1st Annual Friona Kidz Building Camp will be held at the Friona Community Center Tuesday through Saturday, July 19-23 from 5-9 p.m. All children aged 5-12 years of age can participate in this exciting camp. Submit participation forms to the Friona Chamber of Commerce before Saturday, July 16, 2016. Kids are encouraged to be creative while enjoying good food, music, fun and games. Prizes for the best and most creative projects will be awarded.
Twenty volunteers are needed. Tools and materials will be provided to all participants.
The objective of the camp is for kids to build a house/fort from recycled wood, be creative, feel good about themselves, to work as a team and have fun.
There will be 4 to 6 kids for each building project, which is supervised by a parent or a group.
On Friday, July 22 there will be a sleepover followed by breakfast for all the participants on Saturday morning.
Building materials of pallets have been donated by Blue Sky Farms, HiPro and UDA. Plastic will be donated by Blue Sky Farms. A saw will be available for kids that need to have wood cut.
The kids will also get to enjoy a slip & slide, face painting and air pillow.
