Senior Chieftain Mason Mireles and his teammates will be preparing for the playoffs. The Chiefs will play Littlefield Friday April 29 at 1:00 p.m. in Muleshoe for playoff seeding. They finished tied for second place in district.

Our sympathies to the families of Tommy Jones and Jeannette Thurman. Tommy passed away last week in Amarillo. Jeanette died Friday April 22 in Hereford. Their obituaries are printed in this week’s Star.

iPads approved for Junior High
Last year the Friona ISD technology department began a long-range plan to get iPad minis into the hands of all students. The 2015-16 school year was the program’s test year. Each 8th grader had an iPad that they took home with them every night. The iPads have improved productivity in the classroom, teacher/student relationships, and student initiative.
