Stowers, Lewellen win Week 9 contest
Two contestants scored 11 correct in the Week 9 football contest. The Washington Redskins-Cincinnati Bengals game ended in an overtime tie so it was counted as correct for everyone.
Dorothy Stowers of Bovina and Greg Lewellen of Friona each picked 11 correct. Using the Texas Tech 27, TCU 24 tie-breaker, Dorothy was only 6 points off and Greg was 15 points off so she won 1st place and Greg won 2nd place.
Another three players managed 10 correct and 15 picked 9 correct. Going into the final week of the contest David Woods still leads in total points with 80, followed by Jack Glover and Rusty McFarland four points back at 76.
