Donations were down at last Thursday’s Friona blood drive. Coffee Blood Center reports they collected 36 donations. For some reason the Blood Center did not make calls to donors or send reminder post cards like in the past. Friona usually has 50-60 donations so not sure what happened. Our Blood Center coordinator said mobile blood center staff had gone thru some new training which may have slowed things down. That was the last drive until next year.

Several have asked about my daughter Megan’s health after her motorcycle accident. She has recovered nicely since the August 6 wreck. She was able to go on a 10-day cruise/tour in Europe in October with my oldest son, her brother. She is now back at work and trying to wind her way through all of the insurance/hospital/legal issues with the help of a Denton attorney. I’m so thankful for this miracle.

Raul Braillif won the Week 10 football contest and came by the office to pick up his winning check. In 2000 he won the grand prize. I remember taking his photo back then. Been 16 years. Time does get away quickly. Way to go Raul. The contest is over now and David Woods is our $100 grand prize winner. Thanks to our sponsors and to all of our contestants.
