Chiefs fall to Littlefield 48-20
The Littlefield Wildcats came to town Friday night and left with a 48-20 win and a 2-0 district record. The chieftains fell to 0-2 in district. They travel to Muleshoe Friday October 21. The Mules lost to River Road Friday and are 1-1 in district.
Leading rushers for the Chiefs vs. Littlefield were Salvador Santiago with 5 carries and 65 yards, Luis Trejo 12 carries for 55 yards, and Marco Monreal had 14 carries for 45 yards. Trejo and Santiago each scored a rushing touchdown. The Chiefs had 196 yards rushing.
Jonathan Hernandez caught three passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. Johnny Ojeda, Rocky Barrios, and Mario Hernandez each had pass receptions. Monreal completed 8 of 13 passes for 131 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Trejo is the leading rusher for the season with 582 yards on 94 carries. J. Hernandez has 34 receptions for 466 yards to lead all receivers. After the next game in Muleshoe there is one more home game October 28 vs. Shallowater. The final regular game is November 4 at Slaton.
