Five area students represented Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative as part of the 2019 Government-in-Action Youth Tour. They were part of a group of 157 Texas teens who traveled to Austin and toured the Bullock Texas State History Museum, the Texas Captiol, and other local historic sites.
They then flew to Washington D.C. and joined 1,800 other high school participants from across the country. The students met their congressional representatives and watched the legislative process in action. The students also visited famous monuments, memorials, and attractions in the city. There was also a National Youth Day rally sponsored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Visit texasyouthtour.com for more information on Youth Tour.
