Stevens & Stevens claim championship

More, more, more. More players, more prizes, more excitement. The 11th Annual Pudge Kendrick Memorial Golf Tournament provided more of everything. A record eighty-eight teams spread out over eight flights gave golfers of all skill levels an opportunity to test their mettle. A record $13,000 in prize money was paid out to the top four finishers in each flight. (more...)

This location in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 60 near the Cargill plant entrance has been the site of two fatal accidents within a 12-day span. A Friona woman was killed on July 13th and a Clovis man was killed on July 25th. The impact spots for both accidents are strikingly similar. The Department of Public Safety accident report markings on the pavement from the first accident can still be seen.
