Chamber Awards Banquet is March 5th
The 63rd Annual Friona Chamber Awards Banquet will shake, rattle, and roll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5th and the Friona Community Center. The theme is the Rockin’ 50s and you may purchase tickets for $25.00 at the Chamber office located at 621 Main.
Chamber President Kathy Rector will welcome the attendees and Cub Scout Pack #54 will post the colors and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Invocation, the Silent Auction will begin and bids can be made on the various items until the end of the Live Auction later in the program. The menu is steak with all the trimmings. Cargill Meat Solutions donated the beef and Xcel Energy will do the cooking. A group of 7th & 8th graders along with the FCCLA and TYA Youth will be involved with serving the meal and other duties.
After the meal, the Chamber Board of Directors will be introduced as well as other special guests. Bob Sparks will be the featured speaker and auctioneer Jerry O’Connor will conduct the Live Auction. The Silent Auction will be closed and a performance by 2018 Miss Friona Victoria Williams will be followed by the awards ceremony which will include: Employee of the Year, Girl & Boy Students of the Year, Educator of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Woman of the Year, and Man of Year.
Door prizes, announcements, and recognition of the Silent Auction winners will round out the festivities. So don’t be a hound dog, go by the Chamber today and get your tickets for the big show. See you Tuesday night. Thank ya, thank ya very much!!!
