New Ag Association formed to support the youth of the community
The Friona Vocational Agriculture Association was recently formed to support agricultural education opportunities for the youth of Friona. Friona has many opportunities for kids to become involved in agriculture through such programs as FFA, FCCLA, or 4-H. These programs offer a wide variety of hands on activities ranging anywhere from cooking shows to livestock projects. The association wants to give these kids the tools they need to succeed in these programs. The association was proud to help by covering half of the renovation expenses for the Friona Ag Farm. The Friona Vocational Agriculture Association could not have made any of this possible without the support of our community. We would like to say a special thanks to the following individuals for their generous support:

Friona ISD is honored and humbled to accept the generous gift of $20,000 from the Friona Vocational Ag Association. Tracy Bunker, Darren Gilley, Clint Hurst, Cody Kimbrough, Greg O’Brian, and Bill White presented Becky Riethmayer (Board President), Jason Rector (Board Secretary), Wade Schueler (Board Trustee), Kayle Jesko (Ag Science Teacher), and Pamela Nelson-Ray (Superintendent) with the donation. We are so grateful for the sacrifice, dedication, and generosity of the Friona Vocational Ag Association. This contribution will directly benefit our students by providing improved facilities and support for all their programs. Supporting our ag program is imperative to build a better future for our rural community. Without our agricultural base, Friona would not thrive. Thank you to all of you who donated. We are beyond grateful for this thoughtful support of our school and students.
