The Friona Star would like to start getting birthday and anniversary announcements back into the newspaper, but we need your help! We are working to update our current lists as best as we can, so we are asking you to send in your friends’ and family members’ names whom you think might need to be added or changed. This includes newborns, newly married couples, or new members to the community. Information is best delivered by email at frionastar@wtrt.net or by calling (806)250-2211.

As many of you have noticed, I, the daughter of Ron Carr, have started writing the Town Talk section of the newspaper, which is a great honor to me. That being said, I’d love to keep up with all the fun Friona happenings so I can include them each week in the newspaper. Feel free to come into the office and chat with me anytime Monday-Wednesday from 9-5 or contact me via email or Facebook with news that you think deserves to be heard. Even if it is just to recognize someone for doing a good deed or participating in the town, I’d like to continue cultivating that genuine sense of Friona community we all love so much.
