Twenty-four compete in Dixon Memorial Run/Walk
The 2017 Dixon Memorial Run/Walk held Saturday, September 16 during the Maize Days festivities drew 24 participants. Fifteen participants took on the two-mile and nine participants tackled the six-mile competitions.
Two-mile competition results:
Student (Boy) division: Adrian Legarreta took home first place with a time of 12:24. Alan Martinez was second with a time of 12:35. Third place was Jared Rejino with a time of 13:21.
Student (Girl) division: Jackie Legarreta came in first with a time of 12:36. Emily Amaya took second place with a time 15:27 while Esperanza Santiago placed third with a time 17:51.
Dieter Ally took home first place in the under 12 division with a time of 14:50.
Adult division: Trevor Steiner placed first with a time of 12:33 and Suzanne Bunker was second with a time of 18:02.
Also running the two-mile competition were Omar Estrada (14:52), Damian Rodriguez (15:08), Julian Cruz (16:14), Eduardo Jimenez (17:52), Valerie Ramirez (19:56), and Aneesa Amaya (20:05).
Six-mile competition results:
Student (Boy) division: Tim Ally took home first place with a time of 46:02:00.
Student (Girl) division: Vivianna Rivera placed first with a time of 60:25:00. Verenice Mendoza earned second place with a time of 60:42:00. Sandra Gonzalez placed third with a time of 60:42:00
Adult division: Alvaro Gardea placed first with a time of 42:00:00. Alan Mowery placed second with a time of 53:34:00. Rhonda Sanders took home third place with a time of 54:19:00.
Also running the six-mile competition were Kathy Steen (58:29:00) and Skip Hodges (66:52:00).
