Star Football Contest begins next week

Prognosticators get your skills warmed up and pencils at the ready, the Friona Star Football Contest kicks off for the 2017 season on Thursday, August 31. Each week first place winners will receive $35 and second place gets $25. The overall winner at the end of 12 weeks will take home the $100 grand prize.
Contestants will choose the winners of high school, college and professional football games. Two tiebreaker games will determine winners if there is a tie.
Contest entry forms will be available in the Friona Star on Thursday and every Wednesday evening on our website, frionaonline.com.
Entries are due by 4 p.m. each Friday. Mailed entries must be postmarked by 4 p.m. Friday. Drop off entries in the red mailbox at the Star office or Dorothy’s Beauty Shop in Bovina before 4 p.m. Friday. Entries can be faxed to (806) 250-5127. No emails will be accepted. All entries must be on the official entry blank form. Copies of the form are acceptable.
We will compute the winners each week and keep track of individual scores during the contest to determine the grand prize winner. Top 20 totals will be listed in the newspaper each week and posted on our Friona Star Facebook page.
