FFA recognizes members’ accomplishments
The Friona High School FFA held their annual Ag Banquet on Tuesday, May 16 at the high school cafeteria. They recognized all of the accomplishments of their members.
The evening began with the 2016-17 officers announcing their duties from different stations around the cafeteria.
FFA President Brandon Douglas welcomed those in attendance. Seth Murphree gave the invocation before a meal of chicken fried steak and the sides were served.
Tristan Stormes and Hadley White announced the recognitions of the leadership teams.
The Greenhand Skills team was recognized. Members of the team are Moses Chavez, Sloan Dominguez, Marcos Juarez, and Cody DeWit. Members of the Greenhand Quiz team were also recognized. Those team members are Moses Chavez, Jeremiah Diaz, Sloan Dominguez, Gabbi Douglas, Marcos Juarez, and Maddie Sharrock. The Greenhand Creed Speaking team of Jose Rodriguez and Jeremiah Diaz were recognized.
Erica Barrera was recognized for her Job Interview in Leadership Development Events (LDE). Brandon Douglas, Cody DeWit and Gabbi Douglas were recognized for their LDE in Agriculture Advocacy.
Gabbie Trevino was recognized for her Senior Creed LDE. The Senior Quiz team of Sydney Frye, Bryce Bunker, Seth Murphree, Kaylop Villalobos, Hadley White, and Samuel Frye were recognized.
The Senior Radio teams were recognized. Senior Radio 1 members are Brandon Douglas, Erica Barrera, and Seth Murphree. Senior Radio 2 members are Gabbie Trevino, Tristan Stormes, and Sydney Frye.
The Senior Skills team of Bryce Bunker, Hadley White and Samuel Frye were recognized.
Erica Barrera and Tristan Stormes announced the Career Development Teams recognitions. Horse Evaluation team member are Tristan Stormes, Reagan Stowers, Cason Drake, Edwin Garcia and Jesse Delgadillo. Milk Quality Evaluation team members are Brandon Douglas, Gabbie Trevino, Cody DeWit, Jose Rodriguez, and Zeus Zamudio. Dairy Cattle Evaluation team members are Cody DeWit, Bryce Bunker, Seth Murphree and Hadley White. Livestock Evaluation team members are Bryce Bunker, Seth Murphree, Hadley White, Gabbi Douglas, Kaylop Villalobos and Moses Chavez.
The evening concluded with the announcement of the 2017-18 officers and the closing ceremonies.
