Literary Basket tickets available
Friends of the Friona Public Library’s very popular fundraiser the Literary Basket Raffle is back. Since 2006, this has been an annual event. Thanks to some very generous donors, members and supporters, there will again be ten baskets. “Build a Better World” is this year’s theme as the organization strives to continue to support these community projects.
Supported projects include Founder’s Memorial Scholarships: $1,000 scholarships for Friona High School Seniors, Adult English Language classes at the Redeemer Center for residents who wish to learn to speak English and quality programs for the children’s summer reading program.
Other activities include: support for American Legion Post 206 Boys and Girls State, support for the all-night, drug-free party for Friona High School Graduates, support for Newspapers in Education [NIE] Amarillo Globe News for Friona ISD and a Partner in Books for 1st Graders. Other key projects include support Friona Heritage Society (Depot), Friends Used Book Shoppe, Friendship Garden, Heritage Estates Large Print Library and Prairie Acres Activities as well as the Veteran’s Breakfast on Veteran’s Day.
Your annual dues, donations and the Friends Centennial Endowment Fund established in 2006 help make these activities possible.
Please consider becoming a member of the Friends of the Friona Public Library, an organization dedicated to community excellence since 1968. Types of memberships available are Lifetime, Business, Family, Student and Individual.
