Nellie Kate Jackson
Nellie Kate Jackson, 77, of Friona, died Monday, December 4, 2017 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Friona Cemetery Memorial Chapel in Friona with Rev. James Brady of Dalhart, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home in Friona.
Nellie was born May 22, 1940 in Groesbeck, Texas to Jimmy and Nellie Donnell Brady. She married James Huey Jackson March 5, 1957 in Clovis. She loved canning and cooking, playing dominoes, especially with her family whom she dearly loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Larry Jackson; three sisters, Edna Pearl Scott, Minnie Whiteside, and Della Mercer; three brothers, Charlie Brady, Jimmy Brady Jr. and Eugene Brady.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Jackson, and Carol Jackson; six sons, Willie Jackson, Robert Jackson, Edward Jackson, Tony Jackson, Bobby Jackson and Billy Jackson, all of Friona; two brothers, James Brady of Dalhart and Willie Brady of Mineral Wells.
Viewing will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara Maynard
Barbara Maynard, 77, of Friona, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Friona. Celebration of Life services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Friona with Rev. Brett Hoyle, pastor, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery by Blackwell-Mullins Funeral Home of Friona.
Barbara was born January 26, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ernest Christian and Maureen Paxton Hock. She married Jimmy Maynard September 5, 1957 in Friona.
Barbara was an employee of the Friona Texas Federal Credit Union for 35 years, the last 25 years serving as manager. She is a past member of the Friona City Council and New Horizon Study Club. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Friona. She was an avid reader, especially her Bible, loved to cook and spend time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Peggy Jean Hock.
Survivors include her husband Jimmy of Friona; two sons, Don Maynard and wife Diane, and Mike Maynard, all of Amarillo; one daughter, Shauna Winters and husband Mike of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Murphy Maynard and McKenna Maynard.
There will be a family visitation Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
