Got a call this week from David Brumley at Bootleg. He was thanking everyone that came out to help put out the fire that burned 125 acres but missed houses and winter hay due to their help.
It is great to live in a rural community. First responders and neighbors helped Brumley at his time of need. He said that people just kept showing up to help.
We live in a pretty awesome area!

Earlier this year I participated in the Chieftain Choices College and Career Fair. I found it very interesting and informative for those students who were looking for a good fit for their lives after high school. FHS will once again be hosting this event to be held Friday, February 9 at the Activity Center. If you want to be a part of this educational day, contact Allison Johnston at (806) 250-3951.

The FHS FFA has moved into their newly remodeled Ag Farm east of Friona. A number of investors worked with the FISD Board of Trustees to get the farm remodeled and in better shape for the animals and students. Additional space was built on to the goat and sheep barn as well as a sidewalk area for the students to work with their animals out of the elements. An awning was added and new gates are being built by the students. An additional pig barn was built to upgrade the facility and give more space for students to work with their pigs. Check it out sometime.
