Commissioners receive good report from Extension agents
The Parmer County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, November 13 at the County Courtroom in the Parmer County Courthouse in Farwell.
Commissioners fielded a request from the Friona Volunteer Fire Department for E-Dispatch funding but postponed a decision until a later date.
County Extension agents Sergio Mendez and Wendy Case reported to the court that they have noted a marked increase in kids joining 4-H. They have well over 110 kids now signed up to participate in planned activities. Adults have also signed up to participate. Mendez and Case also discussed the two Gold Star recipients: Sterling Henderson of Farwell and Avery Timms of Lazbuddie.
Commissioners approved the contract with the Appraisal Assessment and Collection Service. This is a routine agenda item that is discussed every ten years.
The lawn service contract with Aundrea Griswold was approved for the Parmer County Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center for another year.
Parmer County Sheriff Randy Geries reported that all is quiet at the Law Enforcement Center and that the department is short one officer. They are accepting applications for the position of Deputy.
The County Commissioner will meet again on Monday, November 27 at 10 a.m. at the Parmer County Courthouse. All meetings are open to the public.
