Filing for local elections opens Jan 29
The filing period for city council, school board, and hospital district elections begins January 29 through February 28. The election, if necessary, will be held Saturday May 10, 2014.
For city council, the terms of Martha Barker, Greg Lewellen, Mayor Rick White, and Nancy Davis are expiring. Applications for city council candidates are available at city hall.
School board terms of Wade Schueler and Tracy Bunker are expiring. Applications for the school board election are available at the FISD administration building.
Parmer County Hospital District terms of board members Dennis Anthony, Brett Whitten, and Dale Schueler are expiring. Applications for the hospital district election are available at Parmer Medical Center.
Early voting will be available April 28 through May 6. The Friona Star will publish names of official candidates for the May 10 election after the sign-up deadline of February 28.
