Red Cross, roofing, and tank painting on council agenda
The Friona city council will meet in regular session at 6:30 p.m. Monday July 8 in council chambers at 619 Main St. All council meetings are open to the public.
A public hearing will be held at the first of the meeting for public comments on the 2013 drinking water quality report.
Other items on the agenda include: departmental reports from the Friona library and Friona Police department, financial statements for June 2013 and 3rd quarter 2013, accounts payable for June 2013.
In other business the council will discuss authorizing the city manager to solicit bids for tank painting and rehabilitation of the one-million gallon tank at the north well field, and to solicit bids for the roof at the Friona Public Library.
The council will discuss and take action on statement of agreement between the Texas Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross and the City of Friona. Council will also discuss an amended land lease and wind easement between the city and Scandia Wind.
Two other items will conclude the agenda. Kathy Sandoval and Ann Kelley will be considered for appointment to the Friona Library advisory board for a two-year term and a carport variance at 1411 Euclid, requested by Eufemia Cardenas and Arturo Ortiz will be considered.
The council will go into executive session for the annual evaluation of the city manager. After the executive session the council will return to regular session and consider action, if any, in the executive session discussions.
Agenda items noted here are tentative and can be subject to change. The final agenda is posted on the front window of city hall 72 hours prior to the Monday meeting.
