The Friona Cemetery was decorated with flags on over 300 veterans’ graves in observance of Memorial Day. Mariah Rivera, daughter of Juan and Alma Rivera, was one of the volunteer helpers placing the flags. American Legion Post 206 thanks everyone that volunteered to help with the flag distribution and the city for mowing and cleaning the cemetery for the Memorial Day weekend.

Swimming pool info
The Friona city swimming pool will open June 4. Caitlin Bronniman is the manager. She advises the pool will be open Tuesday – Sunday from 1 – 6 p.m. for open swim and from 6 – 7 p.m. for ladies swim. They will begin booking parties when they open next Tuesday. You can call the pool at 250-5279. (more...)
Who's Who assembly names the 'most'
The Friona High School Who’s Who assembly was held Thursday May 23. The top honor of Mr. and Miss FHS went to Stephen Dominguez and Bianca Romero. Class favorites were: Freshman, Johnna Thompson and Tyler Etue; Sophomore, Andrea Juarez and Mason Loflin; Junior, Holly Johnston and Michael Garcia; Senior, Bianca Romero and OP Vazquez. (more...)
