Winds blew in Monday night gusting to 50 mph. Near Vega in Oldham County they set up a tent for the Spinning Spur Wind Farm groundbreaking on Wednesday but the wind blew it down, proving, I suppose, it was a good spot for a wind farm.

Attended the Friona Credit Union meeting Tuesday evening at the junior high cafeteria. River Smith’s from Lubbock provided fish and chicken and all the trimmings. After a short business meeting several uncirculated coin sets were given as door prizes. Saw Kay Venable from Bovina there. She is recovering from West Nile Virus. Also good to see Sam Mears out and about again. Looks like he has his appetite back after a long bout with infections.

Sandra Berend and Judy Potts were named new members of the Credit Union board. Bruce Fleming is board chairman and Nancy Davis is president.
