Band Boosters brisket dinner Sunday November 18 at the junior high cafeteria. Serving is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Advance tickets are $7 adults and $5 children 10 and under. They are a dollar more at the door. Tickets are available from band members or band boosters. Support the band and enjoy a nice Sunday brisket dinner.

Deena Leuea and Deanna Curtis are once again organizing a project for providing sweat suits for residents of the nursing homes in Farwell and Friona. This is the 11th year for the project. With help of businesses, 4-H clubs, churches, and individuals they have been able to give each resident a sweat suit and a Christmas picture each year. They plan to deliver the presents in early December. To donate a sweat suit or money call Deena at 806-481-3619 or Deanna at 575-693-3984 or 806-251-1405.

A trailer behind Friona city hall is available to collect your old computers, televisions, or cell phones. Only electronics though. No charge, just bring them and place on the trailer. It is the city’s E-recycling event. A good opportunity to get rid of electronic stuff you didn’t know what to do with. (more...)

The Friona Band Boosters are planning a brisket dinner Sunday November 18 at the junior high cafeteria. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Advance tickets are $7 adults and $5 kids 10 and under. They cost a dollar more at the door ($8 & $6). The Boosters are having a meeting Monday November 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the high school band hall to plan for the dinner. Empty Stocking Fund
Donations to the Empty Stocking Fund to help needy children in Friona at Christmas can be made at Friona State Bank or contact Peggy Monroe. Gifts of warm clothing, coats, hats, socks, and a toy are purchased by local volunteers and given to needy children through the school. Your donation will help some child have a Christmas. (more...)
Bushland beats the Chiefs 28-0
The Chieftains visited Littlefield Friday night. The Wildcats piled up 374 yards of offense to 100 for the Chiefs. Final score was Littlefield 34, Friona 0. Littlefield travels to Muleshoe Friday night in a game that will decide the district championship. Both are 4-0 in district.
Mason Loflin, back at quarterback after recovering from a concussion, completed 8 of 16 passes for 59 yards. (more...)
