City of Friona and Friona Elementary School’s Anti-Bullying Campaign

Students with Solutions was a project for students to address bullying by participating in an anti-bullying activity. Elementary teachers held a classroom discussion to help students generate ideas on steps they could take on their own to stop bullying or encourage inclusion and how they plan to spread their message. The students then created a message through art, writing, drawing or coloring that focused on intentional acts of kindness, acceptance and inclusion or anti-bullying.

Next, the Elementary teachers gathered all the entries and submitted them to the City of Friona on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. A team of City of Friona employees reviewed all the entries and selected the top three. The winners were Sophie Lewellen, Ivy Schueler, and Adrian Cruz. Their names were announced on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Friona Elementary School. They each received a $75 cash prize. Every entry submitted was then displayed in the hallways of the Elementary school.
