Christmas Friona-style is coming December 4
Christmas in the Park and the Lighted Christmas Parade are in the works for Monday, December 4. Santa is set to arrive at 4:30 p.m.at the Depot in the Friona City Park. Santa will be accompanied by Miss Friona Brooklynne Johnston and Little Miss Friona Abigail Guerra. Santa will be available for children to deliver their lists until 6:30 p.m.
Businesses and local civic groups are encouraged to decorate the trees in the park for Christmas. For more information on adopting a tree to decorate, contact Chris or Raquel at the Chamber office at (806) 250-3491. Chris has a map of trees and looks forward to helping with adoptions.
If you are interested in a booth during Christmas in the Park, call the Chamber to sign up. The Chamber encourages youth, school and civic groups to have booths during the event as a fundraiser.
The 2nd Annual Lighted Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. Line-up for the parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Euclid Street and proceed down Main Street. The Parmer County Sheriff’s Office and the Friona Chamber of Commerce are once again joining forces to bring the joy of Christmas to Friona during Santa’s visit.
Entries can be commercial or organizational floats, antique cars/trucks/tractors, horse & pony, walking unit, truck/trailer or any other lighted vehicle. Deadline for entries is Friday, December 1.
