A crew from Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative quickly replaced a power pole last Thursday morning that was broken off by the grain truck involved in the accident at the Hub intersection. The accident briefly disrupted power in the area until the DSEC crew restored it.

A memorial service for Mr. Leroy Burnett was held Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at the Friona Methodist Church. He passed away July 9. Family suggests memorials be to the Parmer County Cancer Coalition or your favorite charity.

Greetings!
The Public Works employees are busy getting ready for the cheeseburger festival on July 16. Everything looked great around the city during the Fourth of July celebration. Want to thank Kirk Frye and the county employees for helping and letting the city borrow the county’s shredder to mow around the lake for the fireworks display. The city’s shredder was in the shop for repair.
