
Johnnie Parker began his life November 9, 1933 at home near Farwell, Parmer County, Texas. He departed his earthly life March 12, 2026 in Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas, age 92. He was the son of Willis Marion Parker and Tommie Lee Berry Parker. He was a proud Texan, descending from Burrell Parker of Rockwall, Texas.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Arthur Thomas Parker, Mildred Louise Parker Woods, and Ada Carolyn Parker Carlisle.
Johnnie graduated from Friona High School in 1952 as Salutatorian of his class. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Technological College in 1967.
Johnnie married Phyllis Jean Fairchild on October 20, 1956 in Friona and they made their first home in Hereford, Texas. Their only child, Phillip Dan was born July 30, 1957 in Friona. Other moves followed the first home. They lived in Lubbock, TX, Midland, TX, Woodward, OK, Worland, WY, Andrews, TX and the final move to Round Rock, TX.
In 1992 Johnnie retired from UNOCAL Company after 25 years and became an independent oil producer. He spent his final years enjoying his grandchildren, then great-grandchildren.
Johnnie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis Parker and their son Dan Parker and his wife, Mary Jo Parker, two grandchildren: Miranda Elaine Parker Lambert (Thomas) and Andrew Brady Parker (Gillian). His great-grandchildren are Camden James Lambert, Sloane McKinley Lambert, Thomas Graham Lambert and Haydyn Grace Parker. He is also survived by a sister, Jane Kathryn Parker Langford (Delvin).
A memorial service was held on Monday, 10:00 AM, April 6, 2026 at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Burial will be in Friona, Texas.

Billy D. Smith, 85, of Bovina went to be with Jesus on April 12, 2026 in Clovis, New Mexico. Viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday April 15, 2026 with family visitation from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Celebration of Life Services set for 2:00 PM Thursday April 16, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Bovina with Pastor Chris Craig and family, officiating. Burial with Military Honors following in the Bovina Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Billy was born June 11, 1940 near Texico, New Mexico to Odom and Elsie Smith. He graduated from Farwell High School then attended a television and radio repair school in Denver, Colorado. Billy joined the Air Force in March of 1961. He married Brenda Sue “Suezy” Estes on September 9, 1961. Twin daughters were born in August of 1963 at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Billy, Suezy and the twins moved back to Bovina after his military service in 1965. A son, Kevin, was born June 9, 1967 to complete the family.
Billy was active in the First Baptist Church of Bovina and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He also served in various volunteer organizations in Bovina – Jaycees, Lions Club, American Legion, Fire Department, EMS, and Chamber of Commerce.
Billy worked in the grocery business for many years, had a submarine sandwich shop, sold insurance, and worked for the City of Bovina.
He loved serving God, spending time with family and camping and fishing.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents Odom and Elsie Smith, his wife Suezy, three brothers – Glen Smith, Dean Smith, Gerald Smith, and one sister, Wilma Whitener.
He is survived by his children: Arlene Brozek and husband Justin; Darlene Miller and husband Stan, all of Bovina; and Kevin Smith and wife Crystal of Hereford; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
