
Jovita Madrigal Sepeda, 80 of Clovis passed away March 19, 2026 in Clovis. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM MDT Friday March 27, 2026 in the Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico Burial following by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona, Texas.
Jovita was born December 10, 1945 in Mathis, Texas to Santos and Maria Flores Madrigal. She later married Eusebio Sepeda October 12, 1963 in Haskell, Texas. She loved to pray and read her Bible, and that led to her service to others and her family. Jovita was known as a chatter box, she loved to talk and visit with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents-Santos and Maria Madrigal, husband-Eusebio Sepeda, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
Those to mourn her passing include 2 daughters-Marie Teresa Cordova and husband Javier of Clovis, Rosalinda Autrey and partner Teresa of Lubbock, 1 son-David Sepeda of Texico, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Roberto Vega Sr., 63 of Friona passed away March 21, 2026 in Friona. Viewing was held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with Celebration of Life Services at 3:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Burial followed in the Friona Cemetery by HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Roberto was born February 2, 1963 in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico to Jose Nieves Vega and Ursula Carreño Vega. He later married Aracely Escamilla May 24, 1991. He was a very hard-working truck driver that loved his family and providing for them. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved to have coffee in the morning and was a very creative person playing his guitar, singing and composing songs. He was known for his patience and good heart.
He is preceded in death by his father- Jose Nieves Vega.
Those to mourn his passing include his mother- Ursula Carreño Vega and wife-Aracely Escamilla Vega, both of Friona, 3 sons-Roberto Vega Jr. and Ramiro Vega, of Amarillo, and Roy Vega of Friona, 4 brothers-Andres Vega and Carlos Vega of Friona, Jorge Vega of Denison, and Jose Vega of Tyler, 5 sisters-Maria Estela Vega and Evanjelina Vega of Hereford, Olga Vega of Canyon, Emma Vega of Lubbock, and Angelica Vega of Amarillo, 1 grandson Joel Vega of Amarillo, and 4 granddaughters- Areli Vega, Anaya Vega, Aurora Vega and Arlette Vega, all of Amarillo.

Church service for Jobey Doil Jones Claborn, age 83, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 26, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Muleshoe with Curtis Shelburne of Muleshoe and Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. Jobey died Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born February 10, 1943 in Slaton, Texas to PFC Doil G. and Odie Jones. Jobey’s father was killed in action in April of 1945 on Luzon Island in the Philippines. After the death of her husband, Odie and Jobey moved in with Eunie Verna and Lewis Edward West, affectionately known as “Mama and Daddy” for several years. His mother then married J.C. Claborn in 1947. Jobey married Janet Buckley in Friona, Texas on July 27, 1963.
Jobey graduated from Friona High School in 1961, where he met Janet. They attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Dr. Claborn graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1974, where he had been the very first student to register for that school in 1970. He served an internship at Phoenix General Hospital as Chief Intern. After completing his internship he practiced Emergency Medicine and eventually family practice. Jobey then completed a preceptorship in Dermatology. After serving as Chief of Staff and practicing medicine in Phoenix for 21 years, he relocated to Texas, where he practiced 3 years for Dallas Emergency Physicians, then practiced medicine in Muleshoe, until his retirement in 2015. Jobey held numerous offices and positions including, Chief of Staff of Phoenix General Hospital, National President of Student Osteopathic Medical Association, Speaker of the House of the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association. and President of the Arizona American College of Family Practice. He loved fishing and hunting; playing golf; reading; working with his hunting dogs; but his most important position was being a devoted “Papa Doc” to his grandkids. He loved spending time with them, and they loved him right back.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his step-father; his grandparents; and two brothers, Johnny Claborn and Jackie Claborn.
Dr. Claborn is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet; his two sons, Jackie Claborn and his wife, Robie of Muleshoe, Texas and Jason Claborn and his wife, Lindsay of Shallowater, Texas; and his grandchildren, Emma Claborn, Cobi Claborn, Kylie Neal and her husband, Calvin and Ryker Claborn, and his great-granddaughter, Ronnie Ann Neal.

Jose Mendoza, 85 of Friona passed away March 23, 2026 in Friona. Viewing will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM in the Ron Smiley Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Celebration of Life Services scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 27, 2026 in the Friona Methodist Church with Pastor Ramiro Ramirez, officiating. Burial following in the Friona Cemetery entrusted to HANSARD FAMILY Funeral Home of Friona.
Jose was born on April 14, 1940, in Llano, Texas, to Daniel and Rumalda Mendoza. He was known as a strong, hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. Jose had a deep passion for his welding and construction business, to which he devoted most of his life. In 1990 he started a muffler business, where he found great joy in his work. He especially enjoyed seeing his customers’ reactions after installing their mufflers—he truly lived for that fresh muffler rumble.
As a skilled welder, Jose dedicated much of his life to his craft. He was not one to sit still—he loved to stay busy and often spent his time driving around and staying active.
Jose was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Esther C. Mendoza; his parents, Daniel and Rumalda Mendoza; his son, Joe Albert Mendoza; and five brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving family: four daughters, Yolanda Martinez and husband Mauricio, Elizabeth Romero and husband David, both of Friona, and Frances Hurwitz and husband Duane of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Damiana Mendoza of Breckenridge, CO.; and three sons, Jesse Mendoza and wife Gina of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Gilbert Mendoza and wife Michelle of Elk Horn, Nebraska, and Eddie Mendoza of Friona. He is also survived by three brothers and six sisters, 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Jose will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and the love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
